I believe that There is much to admire about oneself if we learn to look at ourselves as art.

Growing up as a young dark-skinned girl from Ghana, I moved to Canada where I faced a whole new set of challenges I never faced back home. Being constantly teased about the shade of my skin, my hair, and other physical attributes that did not align with the societal definition of beauty was a daily experience. It was tough, but I refused to let those experiences rob me of my self-confidence. Instead, I channeled my energies into a passion for helping other POC to not fall victim to the same insecurities and pressures created by society. Through my art work, I hope to inspire and empower others to embrace their unique beauty and not let society define it for them.
