Collection: Pixel Heller

Pixel Heller (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist currently based downtown Toronto. She explores painting, photography, performance, and textiles. Her creative journey is influenced by her identity as a woman of Afro-Caribbean descent. Pixel explores themes of Black identity, carnival masquerade and cultural fluidity. In Pixel’s mask figure paintings, the inspiration comes from traditions of masquerade. Her work is a celebration of identity, culture and Afrocentric aesthetics. The masks become more than a symbol; they are protectors, embodying the spirits. Pixel graduated from OCAD University in 2024 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Cross Disciplinary Studies.
